San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir recently spoke to the media, opening up about his emotional journey from draft-day setbacks to earning a long-term contract. Lenoir couldn’t contain his feelings after securing a five-year, $92 million extension with the 49ers.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Lenoir described his intense reaction upon hearing the news of the life-changing deal.
“I was overjoyed,” Lenoir shared. “When my agent told me the deal was finalized, I couldn’t hold back the tears, knowing I could transform my family’s future for generations. It was truly a blessing.”
Coach Kyle Shanahan was thrilled as well, expressing that the team had long intended to secure the up-and-coming cornerback with a lasting deal.
“Excited, it was something we aimed for in the offseason. It didn’t happen then, but they started working on it a few weeks ago, and I’m thrilled it’s done,” Shanahan said. “DMo embodies everything we want in a Niner.
