🚨 Breaking news:Chantava and Roselli’s Impressive Run Comes to a Thrilling End in the Semifinals

HOUSTON – The dynamic Shocker duo, Giorgia Roselli and Theodora Chantava, saw their impressive journey at the 2024 AAC Individual Championships come to a close on Saturday morning, falling to the tournament’s top-seeded doubles team.

 

After securing a hard-fought quarterfinal win over East Carolina on Friday, Roselli and Chantava battled fiercely against No.

1 seeds Millie-Mae Matthews and Malwina Rowinska from Florida Atlantic. Despite losing the first set 6-3, the Shockers staged a comeback, winning the second set and forcing a super tiebreak. Though the match remained tight, a decisive 4-0 run by the FAU pair in the tiebreaker led them to a 10-6 victory, closing out the match 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (6).

In singles action, Kristina Kudryavtseva concluded her run on Saturday with a tough loss to Tulane’s Leigh Van Zyl, 6-4, 7-5. Kudryavtseva staged a valiant comeback after trailing 5-2 in the second set, winning three consecutive games, but couldn’t push the match to a third set.
