Former Chicago Bulls forward Bob Love, a three-time NBA All-Star who played 11 seasons in the league, passed away Monday at the age of 81 following a prolonged battle with cancer, the team announced.
Love, who spent nine seasons with the Bulls, was a dominant force, averaging 21.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
“Bob’s legacy is cemented not only by his No. 10 jersey hanging in the United Center but also by the incredible impact he made off the court,” the Bulls said in a statement. “He was an inspirational leader, a dedicated community ambassador, and a champion for charitable causes, touching countless lives through his motivational speaking and advocacy. His contributions to the Chicago community and beyond will never be forgotten.”
